Chris and Angie Adopt

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us.  We are Chris and Angie and we are hoping to adopt a child.

Hello!

Thank you for taking the time to look at our profile.  We are very excited to grow our family through adoption and hope that this little “story of us” will give you a better understanding of whether we are a good match for you and your baby.  We appreciate you taking the time to consider us and we look forward to getting to know you too!

Let us begin by telling you a little bit about ourselves. We have been happily married for almost 7 years and are each other's best friends.  Before we were married we talked about having children and discussed adoption.   We were only married a few short months before we were blessed with our beautiful daughter Maggie.  We were surprised, five years later, when we discovered that we were infertile.  But, it only cemented our desire to make an adoption plan.

One of our greatest joys is spending time together as a family and remaining quite active.  Whether summer or winter, we can always be found outside swimming, barbequing, or boating when the sun is shining, and sledding, skating or building snowmen when snow is falling.  Of course, these activities tend to end with all of us enjoying a glass of cold lemonade or hot chocolate and laughing about our day’s activities.

When weather or household chores keep us inside, though, we still like to keep it light and find the joy.  More often than not, when we are caught in the house, we can be found dancing together.  We plug in the IPOD and bust-a-move!  The sillier the better, and while we would like to say Maggie is the silliest, sometimes Chris will put us all to shame.  But if dancing is not on the agenda, board games become our passion.  Chris is the reigning champion of Checkers, Maggie is the queen of “Sorry,” and Angie is the mastermind of Rumikub.

As a couple, watching movies is something fun for us. We both like a good comedy or drama.   We also enjoy sporting events.  Baseball, football, and hockey are some of our favorite sports.  While we enjoy seeing the professionals at work, hands down our number one star is Maggie on the soccer field!

We vacation together several times a year: hiking at State Parks with our entire extended family, camping, visiting family in Ohio and Texas, and lots of trips to Pappa’s log cabin in Michigan.  The cabin is our favorite spot because here the cousins can ride the boat, swim in the lake, roast marsh mellows at the bonfire, ride the go carts or explore the pine forests. Whatever it may be that we are doing, it is fun! Laughter is a huge part of our lives!

We have always pictured ourselves with lots of children around and being parents to Maggie has made us realize even more how much we want to have another child. The gift of a sibling is so incredible. Both of us have such fond memories of growing up with siblings that we feel it's important for Maggie and your child to have a sibling too.

If chosen to be the parents of your child, you should know what a caring, warm, faith-filled and loving environment they will be raised in.  Your child will be raised with knowledge of his/her adoption story and the strength and courage of his birthmother.  We promise to provide your child with unconditional love and support.  And finally, providing the best education will be one of our most precious gifts.  As teachers, we believe that learning is not confined to the walls of a classroom, it means exploring museums, cultural and athletic events, and traveling the world.  The best education is not just the lump sum of facts and figures, it is developing individual interests and talents that will lead to a successful, happy and fulfilling life.

We have great admiration for you.  Choosing a family for your child must be a difficult and sometimes painful experience.  Yet, it is also the greatest gift of love!  We wish you the best in this journey to find a loving family for your child.  Thank you for taking the time to consider us.

                                                                                                                        Respectfully,

                                                                                                                    Chris and Angie
